Thirty hours, one address
The programme is built to meet the 30 hours a week that most German states ask for. Twenty-five hours are Spanish lessons; five are the political and cultural modules that make it a Bildungsurlaub course.

Recognition is granted state by state, and your right depends on the state where you work, not where you live. If your state is not on the list, write to Admissions before booking and we will tell you where things stand.
How to apply: ask Admissions for the recognition documents for your state, hand them to your employer within your state’s deadline, and book once your employer has said yes.

One week, everything in one price
The Bildungsurlaub course is booked together with a studio in the building: it is what lets you walk downstairs to class and stay for the afternoon modules. Choose a bigger studio if you like; the course price stays the same.

From 1 January to 31 May a peak-season supplement of €50 a week applies. A refundable deposit of €300 is paid separately.

The questions people ask before they talk to their employer.
How many days of Bildungsurlaub do I have?
In most states it is five working days a year, which is exactly one week of this course. The rules are set by each state, so check yours before you apply.
Which state’s rules apply to me?
The state where your workplace is, not where you live. If you live in one state and work in another, use the rules of the state where you work.
Do I need to speak Spanish already?
No. Groups go from complete beginner to advanced. You take a short placement test online before you travel, so you start in the right group on Monday.
Can I book the course without the studio?
No. The Bildungsurlaub course is offered only together with a studio in the building.
Can I stay longer than a week?
Yes. Add holiday days before or after, or continue with another week on one of the regular programmes. Admissions can quote both together.
What do I get for my employer?
Before you book: the recognition documents for your state and the programme. After the course: an attendance certificate with the hours you completed.
